Cactus en forme de cylindre comme un jeune homme tendant à devenir colonnaire avec l’âge. En général, avec 8 côtes bien définies, des côtes marquées et plusieurs aréoles à pilosité blanche pourvues de peu d'épines noires et longues.

La peau de la plante a de très petites écailles blanches à répartition inégale.

Les fleurs sont jaunes, très voyantes et fleurissent presque toujours en été. Il est sensible au froid.

Comment planter

Endroit ensoleillé et sol riche en matière organique mais avec suffisamment de sable et de gravier fin pour un bon drainage. Laisser sécher entre les arrosages.
